Explore Istanbul like a local with our carefully curated tours. We offer a wide range of guided experiences, from half-day Old City walking tours that cover Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the Hippodrome, to full-day Bosphorus cruises that reveal the city from the water. Our food tours take you through Kadikoy and Besiktas markets, where you taste authentic Turkish street food and learn the stories behind each dish. For those who want a personalized experience, our private tours are fully customizable — you choose the pace, the stops, and the theme. Every tour is led by licensed, English-speaking local guides who bring Istanbul’s history to life with stories and context you won’t find in guidebooks.

Old City Highlights Walking Tour

Our Old City Highlights Walking Tour is the most popular tour we offer and the perfect introduction to Istanbul. This half-day tour (approximately 4 hours) covers the most important monuments in the Sultanahmet district, the historic heart of both the Byzantine and Ottoman empires. Your guide will meet you at your hotel or at the Sultanahmet tram stop and lead you through 2,500 years of history.

The tour begins at Hagia Sophia, where your guide explains the architectural innovations that made this building a wonder of the ancient world. You will learn about Emperor Justinian’s vision, the transition from cathedral to mosque, and the stunning Byzantine mosaics in the upper gallery. Next, you cross Sultanahmet Square to the Blue Mosque, where your guide describes the Iznik tilework, the significance of the six minarets, and the daily life of a functioning mosque.

The tour continues to the Hippodrome of Constantinople — once a chariot racing arena that held 100,000 spectators — where you will see the Egyptian Obelisk, the Serpentine Column, and the Obelisk of Theodosius. From there, you walk to Topkapi Palace, where your guide takes you through the Imperial Courtyards, the Treasury with the Spoonmaker’s Diamond, and the Harem (if you select the extended tour option).

The standard tour costs 750 TL per person in a small group (maximum 12 people) and includes skip-the-line access to all attractions. The extended version with Topkapi Palace and Harem access costs 1,200 TL. Private tours for your group only start at 2,500 TL. All tours include the services of a licensed guide and entrance fees, but do not include food or transportation. Tours run daily except Mondays (when Topkapi Palace is closed).

Bosphorus Cruise Tours

A Bosphorus cruise is the single most scenic experience in Istanbul, and our guided cruise tours add expert commentary that transforms a boat ride into a historical journey. Our Bosphorus Sunset Cruise departs from Eminonu at 5:30 PM (6:30 PM in summer) and takes 2.5 hours, timed to catch the golden hour and sunset over the city. As you cruise along the strait that divides Europe and Asia, your guide narrates the history of the palaces, mansions, and fortresses you pass.

Highlights along the route include Dolmabahce Palace, the largest palace in Turkey and the final home of the Ottoman sultans; the Ciragan Palace, now a luxury hotel; the Ortakoy Mosque, framed by the Bosphorus Bridge; Rumeli Fortress, built by Mehmed II in just four months before his conquest of Constantinople; and the two suspension bridges that connect the European and Asian sides of the city. Your guide explains the Ottoman maritime culture, the significance of the yali (waterfront mansions), and the geopolitics of the Bosphorus as the strategic waterway connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean.

The sunset cruise includes light refreshments (tea, coffee, and Turkish delight) and costs 450 TL per person. For a more substantial experience, our Bosphorus Dinner Cruise includes a three-course Turkish dinner, live music with traditional instruments, and a belly dancing performance. The dinner cruise departs at 8:00 PM and returns at 11:00 PM, costing 1,200 TL per person. Private cruise charters are available for groups, weddings, and corporate events — contact us for pricing.

All our cruise tours use comfortable, modern vessels with indoor and outdoor seating, restrooms, and panoramic windows. The boats are climate-controlled for year-round comfort, and blankets are provided on cooler evenings. We recommend bringing a camera, as the photo opportunities are exceptional.

Istanbul Food Tours

Istanbul’s food scene is one of the richest and most diverse in the world, reflecting the city’s position at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Our Istanbul Food Tour takes you beyond the restaurants aimed at tourists and into the markets, street stalls, and family-run shops where Istanbul residents actually eat. This 4-hour walking tour covers approximately 2 kilometers and includes 8-10 tastings — come hungry.

Our most popular food tour takes place in Kadikoy on the Asian side, which has the most authentic and vibrant food market in Istanbul. Your guide leads you through the Kadikoy Carsi market, where you taste Turkish olives and cheeses from regional producers, sample fresh-baked simit and pogaca (savory pastries), try homemade Turkish delight in flavors you never knew existed, and eat fresh seafood at a waterfront fish restaurant.

The tour continues through Kadikoy’s back streets to a traditional Turkish coffee shop where you watch the brewing process and taste coffee made in a copper cezve over hot sand. You visit a meze shop to learn about the small plates that are the foundation of Turkish cuisine, and you finish with baklava and künefe (a warm cheese pastry in syrup) at one of the neighborhood’s best sweet shops.

We also offer a Beyoglu and Karakoy food tour on the European side, which focuses on the historic port district and its working-class food culture. This tour includes balik ekmek (fish sandwiches) at the Eminonu boats, kokorec (grilled lamb intestines — an acquired taste but beloved by locals), Turkish delight from a century-old shop, and meze and raki at a traditional meyhane.

All food tours cost 850 TL per person and include all food tastings, a licensed food-guide, and a printed list of recommended restaurants and food shops to visit on your own. Tours run daily and require a minimum of 2 participants. Vegetarian alternatives are available at every stop — please let us know in advance.

Private Custom Tours

For travelers who want maximum flexibility and a truly personalized experience, our private custom tours are the ideal choice. You tell us your interests, your schedule, and your energy level, and we design a tour specifically for you. Whether you want to spend a full day photographing Istanbul’s architecture, follow in the footsteps of Orhan Pamuk’s novels, explore the city’s Byzantine churches, or simply have a guide show you the highlights at a leisurely pace with long coffee breaks, we can make it happen.

Private tours are led by our most experienced guides — many of whom hold advanced degrees in history, art history, or archaeology. They are not just knowledgeable but also skilled at reading their guests and adjusting the tour in real time. If you are fascinated by Ottoman tilework, your guide can spend an extra hour at the Rustem Pasa Mosque. If you are tired and want a break, your guide can redirect to a tea garden with a view.

Popular private tour themes include the Byzantine Heritage Tour (exploring the Byzantine churches, mosaics, and city walls that most tourists never see), the Ottoman Architecture Tour (visiting the masterpieces of the architect Sinan, including the Suleymaniye and Selimiye mosques), the Photography Tour (designed for photographers with routes timed for optimal lighting), and the Istanbul Off the Beaten Path Tour (exploring neighborhoods like Balat, Fener, and Kuzguncuk that most visitors never reach).

Private tours cost 1,800 TL for a half-day (4 hours) or 3,200 TL for a full day (8 hours) for a group of up to 6 people. Larger groups are accommodated with an additional guide. Entrance fees, transportation, and meals are not included, but your guide will handle all logistics and reservations. Private tours can be booked with as little as 24 hours’ notice, though we recommend booking at least a week in advance for specific themes or during peak season.

Full-Day Istanbul Sightseeing Tours

Our full-day Istanbul Sightseeing Tour is designed for visitors who have limited time and want to see as much as possible in a single day. This comprehensive 8-hour tour covers the Old City in the morning and the Bosphorus in the afternoon, giving you a complete overview of Istanbul’s historical and geographical highlights.

The tour starts at 9:00 AM at Hagia Sophia, followed by the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, and the Basilica Cistern. After a traditional Turkish lunch at a local restaurant in Sultanahmet, the tour continues to the Grand Bazaar for a guided orientation and shopping time. In the afternoon, the group transfers to Eminonu for a 1.5-hour Bosphorus cruise with commentary, ending at the Spice Bazaar for a final stop before returning to your hotel.

This tour costs 1,500 TL per person in a small group (maximum 15 people) and includes all entrance fees, lunch, the Bosphorus cruise, and hotel pickup from Sultanahmet and Beyoglu area hotels. The private version of this tour costs 4,500 TL for up to 6 people. Full-day tours run daily and can be customized to include Topkapi Palace or the Dolmabahce Palace in place of the Grand Bazaar if you prefer.

Theme Tours: Photography, History, Architecture

We offer specialized theme tours for travelers with particular interests. Our Photography Tour is led by a professional photographer who knows the best vantage points and the optimal times for light. The 4-hour tour covers the Old City’s most photogenic locations, including rooftop views of the Blue Mosque, interior shots of Hagia Sophia, and street photography in the Grand Bazaar. Your guide provides technical advice and composition tips. The Photography Tour costs 1,200 TL per person and requires a camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced phone camera).

Our History Deep Dive Tour is for travelers who want more than the standard overview. Led by guides with history degrees, this 6-hour tour traces Istanbul’s story from its founding as Byzantium in 660 BC through its time as Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, to its conquest by the Ottomans and its role as the capital of a vast empire. The tour includes visits to the Chora Church (with its breathtaking Byzantine frescoes), the Theodosian Walls, the Patriarchate at Fener, and the Panorama 1453 Museum. This tour costs 1,400 TL per person.

Our Architecture Tour focuses on the work of Mimar Sinan, the greatest Ottoman architect, who designed over 300 buildings in the 16th century. The tour visits the Suleymaniye Mosque (Sinan’s masterpiece), the Rustem Pasa Mosque (famous for its Iznik tiles), the Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, and the Sehzade Mosque. Your guide explains Sinan’s engineering innovations and his influence on Islamic architecture. This 4-hour tour costs 1,100 TL per person.

Group Tours vs. Private Tours

Choosing between a group tour and a private tour depends on your travel style, budget, and priorities. Group tours are more affordable, offer the social experience of meeting other travelers, and follow a tested itinerary that covers the highlights efficiently. Our group tours are limited to 12-15 people, small enough that your guide can answer individual questions and accommodate different walking paces.

Private tours offer flexibility, exclusivity, and personalization. With a private tour, you set the pace — if you want to spend an extra 30 minutes photographing the mosaics in Hagia Sophia, you can. If you want to skip a site you have already seen and add something else, your guide will adjust on the spot. Private tours also allow for more intimate interaction with your guide, who can tailor their commentary to your specific interests and knowledge level.

For families with young children, private tours are particularly valuable — the guide can adjust the schedule for naps, snacks, and attention spans. For solo travelers, group tours provide companionship and the security of traveling with others. For couples celebrating a special occasion, a private sunset cruise or a private food tour can be a memorable way to experience Istanbul together.
